We LOVE Nellie Edge so much! She is one of our favorite people and we highlighted her work as our favorite thing this month! If you are not familiar with her or her amazing work, check out her website for some great thoughts and ideas for our youngest literacy learners.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d share her wonderful idea of “Heart Words” with you. Heart Words are high frequency words that we expect students to learn to recognize in their in reading and to spell correctly in their writing. They are words me know by heart! We have these words highlighted specially in our room and refer to the list often with students! Heart words….We LOVE this name of our most commonly used words! Fabulous!

Really Good Stuff is a great place to find lots of really great stuff for your classroom, while keeping your environment looking simply organized! Our most recent purchase from them includes these tubs to keep individual students’ books in.
