Mr. or Mrs. (Glowing) Snowman
Looking for a unique, incredibly cute winter project to do with your class (or to do yourself…it makes a great neighbor gift!)? Look no further. Check out this great project shared with us by our friend and first grade teacher, Kelly Yahr. This is beyond any paper chain project we have ever done! Enjoy! We know you will!
Materials:
Clear jar (large enough to contain a strand of lights)
White Acrylic Paint
A piece of a sponge
1 strand of Christmas lights (a string of 50 is perfect)
A Sharpie pen
1 Cotton ball (or any item you wish to use for nose)
1 “thigh-high” sock

Use your sponge to paint the jar with the white acrylic paint.

Paint the entire jar.

Cut off the ribbing of the sock to make the hat.

Cut a small strip from the sock.

Tie the strip around the “top” of the hat.

Draw the eyes and mouth of your snowman.

Glue on the nose.

Put the lights into the jar.

Place the sock onto the head of your snowman, plug in the lights and Viola…Mr. (or Mrs.) Snowman comes to life!
Enjoy his happy glow throughout the winter season!
Happy Holidays!
