It is hard to believe that October has come and gone, November is here and Thanksgiving is knocking on the door. The first few months of school always fly by, filled with the flurry and intensity of new students, new procedures, new curriculum, new staff, etc. – whew!  No wonder we are feeling a little tired and worn around the edges.   

One thing we are never too tired for is new books!  We have posted some new book ideas for reading aloud under Our Favorite Things – Children’s Books.  If you are looking for great titles you may not have tried yet, you’ll want to check these out!  This is also a great time of year to dig into a new professional book for a book club or just for your own enjoyment!  You can see what we are reading professionally right now under Our Favorite Things – Professional Books. 

Now that things have settled and the Daily Five is up and running, new teaching questions are beginning to arise from our colleagues around the country.  We have added a new link to our Q and A section to help answer the most frequently asked questions from our readers.

Thanks for all of the inquiries about the release date of our newest book on the Literacy Cafe Menu. The book is in production and is due to be out in late Spring. We will let you all know when it is released.
