99% Accuracy
While at the Illinois State Reading Council Conference in March 2005, we heard Richard Allington state that the most current research indicates that an independent-level or good fit book for children is one that children can read with 99 percent accuracy. This is much higher than we had heard before and had been practicing in our own classroom. Ahh Haa.
